The Democratic Party’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau Valentina Buliga, during her first term in office as mayor, plans to build a parking garage at the intersection of Ismail St and Dimitrie Cantemir Blvd. in Chisinau, near the near Tiraspol market, Info-Prim Neo reports. “It is my first project in this field. The garage will occupy 21,000 square meters and will have a capacity of 500 cars. It will help ease traffic in that area,” said Valentina Buliga. The construction works are estimated at €8 million. Valentina Buliga said the money will be allocated under a private-public partnership. The parking rates will be reasonable. The project has been sketched. According to specialists, a six-storey parking garage can be built in less than a year. The PDM’s candidate said that such a parking garage has not been yet built because nobody addressed this issue. “The Chisinau Council and the City Hall made only attempts to work out a strategy for dealing with the heavy traffic,” said Valentina Buliga. She stressed that such garages would be constructed in every district of Chisinau during the four-year term in office as mayor. Valentina Buliga is under No. 9 in the ballot for the mayoralty of Chisinau.
