Valeriu Muravschi: If 10% of Moldovans who are abroad return, situation in Moldova can change

If 10% of the Moldovans who went abroad return to Moldova, the general situation in the country can change. Their potential and experience accumulated in developed countries and their Western view are very important, Moldova’s first Prime Minister Valeriu Muravschi said in the program “Interpol” on TV 7 channel. According to him, a change in the country can be brought about by a new ruling political class, IPN reports.

The ex-Premier noted that if a new political class comes to power, it should start with the separation of powers in the state and the radical reformation of the justice sector.

Valeriu Muravschi said the Republic of Moldova didn’t obtain the wanted results also because the training of those who had been in power was unsuitable for dealing with the problems existing in the country. The fact that emphasis wasn’t put on the education of society is one of the big mistakes committed after the declaration of Moldova’s independence.

In another development, the former Prime Minister said the direct election of the Head of State, by the people, could make the President a kind of pole. “The President elected by the people could at least express and promote the opinion of society. This will be like a promoter of the wishes and expectations of society and will unite our population. In this case, the voters will concentrate around the President,” he stated.
