Young members of PPRM play poker, urge politicians to abandon political games

A group of members of the Youth Organization of the People’s Party of Moldova (PPRM) staged a flashmob meeting in the Great National Assembly Square on April 1, chanting “Stop the political games”, IPN reports.

The young people improvised a poker game in front of the Government Building. The large playing cards had pictures of Moldovan and foreign politicians on them. The ‘Jokers’ were designated as a result of a vote through social networking sites.

Ian Lisnevschi, head of the party’s Youth Organization, said the message is intended for the Moldovan functionaries and alludes to their inability to implement the political programs announced in election campaigns. It warns the political leaders and the population about the danger of Moldova becoming again a totalitarian country and of another eight years of struggle for democracy and freedom being needed.

’The politicians started a dirty game that must be brought to an end. We compared it with the game of poker, which is the dirtiest of the card games,” said Ela Lisnic, spokeswoman for the PPRM Youth Organization.

The event involved about 50 young members of the local organizations of the PPRM based in Chisinau, Ialoveni and Anenii Noi. It forms part of a series of activities themed “Stop the political games”.
