The leaders of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) reached an agreement as regards the method of appointing deputy ministers. They said the ministers will have a decisive viewpoint in the process of designating their deputies, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Immediately after the March 21 meeting of the AEI Council, the three leaders of the coalition announced that they agreed on the method of naming deputy ministers – proportionally to the results obtained by the components of the ruling alliance in the parliamentary elections, by taking into account the minister's opinion.
“The ministers will have a say as regards the candidate for deputy minister. It will be a combined formula based on the principle of professionalism that should satisfy the party interests,” said the leader of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu.
The head of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat said the minister's view will be decisive when appointing the deputy minister as it is the task of the ministers to form their teams.
“If the minister has objections, the party will examine them and reject or accept the minister's proposal,” explained the leader of the Liberal Party Liberal Mihai Ghimpu. He stressed that his party wants to have deputy ministers in such key institutions as the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of the Interior and the Foreign Ministry.
As to the election of the head of state, the leaders of the AEI said they may consult the Constitutional Court if the jurists entrusted with the task of formulating proposals do not reach a definite conclusion.
