CEC initiates validation procedure for 9 MPs

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has taken note of the vacancies created in Parliament with 9 members stepping down to take other jobs and has submitted to the Constitutional Court the list of alternate members by a decision adopted today, IPN reports.

The alternate members in question include Nae-Simion Plesca and Octavian Grama of the Liberal Democratic Party, replacing Valeriu Strelet, who became Prime Minister, and Anatolie Dimitriu, who preferred the post of Ialoveni district head.

Elena Bacalu and Corneliu Dudnic of the Democratic Party replace Vlad Plahotniuc and Nicolae Molozea, with the latter preferring the job of Stefan Voda district head.

The other five alternate members are Roman Botan, Stefan Vlas, Petru Cosoi, Alina Zotea and Artur Gutium of the Liberal Party. The seats they are occupying became vacant after Corina Fusu was appointed Education Minister, Valeriu Munteanu was appointed Environment Minister, Anatol Salaru Defense Minister, Iurie Chirinciuc Transport Minister and Gheorghe Brega Deputy Prime Minister for Social Matters.
