After being postponed two times, the consultations between the head of state and the parliamentary groups held to choose a candidate for Prime Minister are expected to start today, July 27, IPN reports, quoting the news TV program Mesager.
Last weekend, the parliamentary factions were contacted by the staff of President Nicolae Timofti and invited to the consultations with the head of state. The discussions were to take place in the evening of July 25, but were postponed until the next day and then were put off again.
The PLDM, PDM and PL will continue the negotiations today. The only candidate for premiership fielded so far is acting minister of education Maia Sandu. She now seems not to be supported by the PDM and PL after she put forward a number of conditions for accepting the post.
