Igor Dodon: Government is trying to exclude PSRM from race

The leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon said the ruling parties, together with the Party of Communists (PCRM), are doing everything possible to exclude the party from the race preceding the November 30 parliamentary elections. He told a news conference that after the Central Election Commission (CEC) on November 26 decided to remove the Party “Patria” from the race, it will take a similar decision concerning the PSRM, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon said the ruling parties and the PCRM resort to such actions for fear that they will lose the elections. “The 2014 election campaign is the dirtiest one in the modern history of Moldova. In less than a month and a half, they used lies, dirt, falsifications, manipulations, audio and video montages in a move to discredit the opposition parties. This is against the national and international legislation,” stated Igor Dodon.

According to him, the CEC would exclude the PSRM for the reason that it used financing from abroad, which is the same reason for which it asked the Chisinau Appeals Court to annul the registration of Renato Usatyi’s party as election runner.

“We call on all the international organizations, first of all those accredited in Moldova, to stop these illegalities organized by Filat, Plahotniuc and Voronin,” stated the leader of the PSRM. He also called upon the people to take part in the November 30 elections and to vote for the PSRM. “Don’t vote for the PL, PLDM, PDM and PCRM as these parties will form the next coalition of the oligarchs.”

The Chisinau Appeals Court is now examining the CEC’s request to remove the Party “Patria” from the race for the November 30 parliamentary elections.
