Simple motion filed by BCS targeting the Minister of Defense

The BCS parliamentary faction has submitted a simple motion against the Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi. The document expresses a lack of confidence in the current direction of the Ministry of Defense, which, according to the faction, contradicts the constitutional principle of Moldova's neutrality, IPN reports.

According to MP Constantin Staris, the proposed motion highlights issues such as the promotion of defense policies that allegedly violate the country’s neutral status, inefficient management - including tragic cases of military personnel deaths - mismanagement of external and budgetary funds allocated for military infrastructure development, and the advancement of policies, including those at the national strategy level, that do not reflect the views of the majority of citizens.

A simple motion can be initiated by at least 15 members of Parliament. According to parliamentary rules, the motion is submitted to the presiding officer during a plenary session. Once received, the presiding officer informs the legislature. The debate on a simple motion is scheduled by the Permanent Bureau and must take place within 14 working days from the date of submission.

This is not the first simple motion filed by the BCS during the current legislative session. All previous ones have been rejected.
