Proposals for registering presidential candidates can be filed by November 14
The proposals concerning the candidates for the post of President of Moldova can be submitted by November 14, inclusive, the special commission for the supervision of the presidential elections has said in a communiqué, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
According to the communiqué, the proposals must be based on Article 78 of the Constitution and Article 5 of the law on the procedure for electing the head of state. A person can put himself forward if he/she is supported by at least 15 MPs or a group of at least 15 MPs.
The proposal concerning the presidential candidate, signed by all the lawmakers who support this candidate, must be filed to the commission three days before the election day at the latest. It must be accompanied by the following documents: the candidate’s written agreement, the medical certificate issued by the empowered medical institution, a statement on the incomes earned by the candidate in 2010-2011, the biographical data (curriculum vitae) and the copy of the identity card.
The proposals can be submitted between October 20 and November 13 on workdays, from 2pm until 5pm, and on November 14, from 8am until 12 midnight, to the following address: Chisinau municipality, 162 Stefan cel Mare Blvd., office 1711.
